• As a diaper rash cream. I swear this one’s super effective. Just apply generously on your baby’s bum and they’ll never get a diaper rash ever. Proven effective by this neophyte mum.
• As an insect relief. I grew up using petroleum jelly for our insect bites. It helps soothe the bite and make it less itchy.
• All in one moisturizer. Uhuh! I would slather some on my dry skin especially on super dry-prone areas like knees, elbows, even my nape.
• As a lip balm. Petroleum jelly is the best and the cheapest lip balm. I also use this to treat wind burns.
• As an anti-rash cream. We would use petroleum jelly on my minor rashes.
• As a sunburn relief. Again probably the cheapest treatment for sunburns. Proven effective by moi!
• As a foot moisturizer. My favorite use of the petroleum jelly! I would simply apply liberal amounts of petroleum jelly at night all over my feet. Concentrating on my toes and heels and those with callouses. Wear a thick cotton socks and voila! Instant pretty feet the next day. My sister suffers from super dry feet and this is what she does every single night. Pag hindi kasi nya to nagagawa, her foot would be super dry and flaky.
• Make-up remover. Again, the cheapest make up remover ever. Just get apply a small amount all over your face and lips and massage in circular motion concentrating on the areas where you applied heavy, waterproof make ups like the lashes, your brows and lips.
• Prolongs scent and perfume. This one I’m not sure if you know already but yes! It helps prolong scent on the body. Usually I would apply a small amount of petroleum jelly at the back of my ears and my neck then spray my favorite perfume. The scenat almost lasts the entire day. Yebah!

I have a lot on my stash now that I am bound to post. And first thing is my now favorite nude lippy – L’Oreal Paris Collection Star in Barely Coral.



This light coral shade radiates a vintagey vibe for some reason. And I love it. Highly pigmented and easy to swipe on the lips. My lips doesn’t feel dry at all. Actually, it gives the much needed moisture on my lips. With just the right amount of sheer.

I love to wear it on days when I feel like having a nude lipstick. Or if I wanna look made up, but not too flashy, if you know what I mean.

This is definitely the shade I would grab on a first date with my long time nerdy crush. Something to that effect.


I love it so much that this is what I used on my pictorial. Simply because I wanna have a shoot with the old typewriter in Museong Pambata and it’s just perfect. Vintage but classy and modern.


Actually, I have a couple of L’Oreal lipsticks on my stash and this is definitely one of my favorites.

I love the packaging too. Rose gold with that glassy thingy where it shows the exact shade of the lipstick. Easier to identify.

This shade is perfect for all skin types and skin colours. So yeah! Highly recommended. Go and try it. It retails at around 500ish php. And you can find it on your favorite beauty counters.

One of the things I have learned about make up is the importance of make up brushes. I used to think that it’s really not needed as I could always use my fingers in applying my make up. that brushes are just for the pro.

But, brushes would definitely help you achieve your everyday no-make up- make up look. And for me, my best find when it comes to make up brushes is Marionnaud. :)

You can find Marionnaud brushes in Watsons Store and I swear they are the cheapest, high-quality brush in the market. I tried the others, some are even more expensive than this brush but so far, they are my favorite.

Although there are tons of make up brushes available in the market, I think there are 3 most important ones – foundation brush, blusher/contour brush and eye liner brush (not in the photo). If you have these 3 on your make up kit, you’ll be fine.

Foundation brushes are important in applying foundation and/or BB cream. Although using your ring finger is fine, I find it more convenient to use the brush. First, because it’s less messy and second, because it evens out the application. I love Marionnaud’s Foundation Brush in No. 33. The bristles are soft and it doesn’t fall off easily. Been using mine for more than a year now. I just clean it with brush cleaner as often as I could. This brush only costs around Php 150.00. Super mura!

Marionnaud’s Slanted Blusher/Contour Brush is my go-to blusher brush. It’s not too big nor too small plus I love that it’s slanted making it easier to apply blush. I’m not yet that okay with contouring so I use this mostly on applying creme blush. This one costs around Php 200.00.

Make up is easier with the right tools!

Another beauty blog, this is my way of showing you guys the beauty loots that I use and swore into. It would usually take me months before blogging a certain beauty find because based on experience, using them once or for a week is not a good point of comparison. I’ve had products that I super like the first time I use but would find faults here and there after a couple of weeks.

Take this Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire as an example. I got this because the Covergirl sales lady in Robinson’s Ermita is sooo good with sales talk. So eventhough this eyeliner is a bit expensive (more than Php 400 if I’m not mistaken), we give in.

Although after a couple of tries, I started to hate it. It smudged! Giving me raccoon eyes the whole freakin’ day. I was so so sad then because I felt like I was robbed. I really didn’t like it then but I didn’t give up. I was wondering how ate was able to put the eyeliner on me (that day I bought it) and it didn’t even smudge then. I was thinking that maybe it’s because it was the trial kit. So I did some research, and tried applying it differently. Apparently, this eyeliner is best for the upper lid not the lower lid. I usually out eyeliner on my lower lid kasi which I later on found out is not right at all. I don’t know how to put winged eyeliner kasi that’s why I don’t usually put eyeliner above my lid but with just a couple of practice, I was able to find the perfect way to put eyeliner. Ng hindi OA! And this eyeliner is perfect! I love it so much now. And it’s waterproof so it stays on your lids the whole day. No need to retouch.

Again, too lazy to do a before and after shot. You just have to take my word for it!

Another beauty blog worthy post! Making up for the lost time. And yes, I think second trimester is starting to look good. So expect to be bombarded with a gazillion of late posts!! Yay!!

So here’s another great find from Etude House. Sissy and I raided their store a couple of months back and we went out VERY happy. I really really love the fact that they have great beauty products at such affordable prices. Super major over grover SCORE! And they’re from Korea! Great products, reasonable price. They’d be my next fave beauty shop after face shop.

Anyway, I’ve been really itching to buy Fairy Drops Mascara for the longest time now. I tried it several times already and really really loved it. Makapal kasi ako, I’d always use their testers sa Beauty Bar everytime mapapadaan ako. Instant mascara! Free pa!

I know you’d ask me why I didn’t buy it? Kahit gustong gusto ko. Coz it’s expensive! It costs more than 1K! Hindi makatarungan. Well, makatarungan actually because it’s really maganda and definitely worth it but I’m no  beauty expert and I’m not well off. I’m so afraid that I won’t be able to use it for long. Baka hindi ko masulit. Alam mo yun?!

So this Lash Perm Volume Mascara is my life saver!! And sissy’s as well. Kasi I was trying to convince her na maghati kami sa Fairy Drops eh. Hahahahaha!

The sister tried several mascara on Etude House. She’s a sucker for mascaras. Coz she has long eye lashes and she’d really look good with a decent mascara. I was able to try one Etude House mascara which my friend owned and I didn’t really liked that variant she has. It’s sticky and so hard to use. Specially for me who’s not really gifted with decent eye lashes.

But LPVM is different! It comes with a volume brush that’s designed to reach your shorter lashes making it more easier to use. And you know me, I go for efficiency all the time! Plus its not sticky at all and is doesn’t clump your lashes. I hate it when I’d put mascara on and my lashes would en up clumped that I have to separate them one by one. I would usually use a safety pin(ooopppsss!! That’s bad practice guys so don’t follow my footsteps!) coz eyelash comb just won’t do the trick. But with LPVM, I don’t need to resort into doing that unsafe act. And it really does give extra volume into your lashes making them darker and appears thicker. Sorry no before and after shots, too lazy to do those. Hihihihihi.. But you just have to take my word for it I guess.

The sister and I have been using it for months now and I must say its really sulit. It does what it promised and doesn’t dry up easily kaya until now nagagamit pa din namin. This one costs Php395. Super affordable talaga!!!

So go get your hands on them. By the way, this is the only variant on their mascara line that I love. The cheaper ones I really don’t like at all.

Mentioned on my last post, that I was really looking for a good make up remover a couple of months back. That’s because I find it hard to remove my waterproof mascara at the end of the day. And I wanna keep/preserve my beauty so I am all for that “do not sleep with make up on” thingy.

So the first make up remover that I’ve tried is Maybelline’s Eye and Lip Make Up Remover.

I am a Maybelline girl you see. The only pressed powder that doesn’t give me break outs is Maybelline’s Pressed Powder in Honey. And I love their mascara too. Plus some of the fashion blogger I follow mentioned Maybelline’s Make up Remover as part of their stash so I gave it a try.

Honestly, I didn’t like it. I find it hard to use and doesn’t really remove my waterproof mascara. I need to put more pressure on my eye lids to remove the stubborn mascara off my lashes that would usually result to falling lashes. *sigh* Eh hindi pa naman ako gifted with long, thick lashes. I also find it too oily.

Though its good for eye liners and eye shadows I guess but you really need to wash your face after with a facial wash or you’d have that icky feeling which I don’t experience in Happy Tea Time. Got my bottle 4 months ago and I barely used it. Sayang! Didn’t really like it kasi talaga. Good thing it’s cheap. A little more than a hundred bucks if I’m not mistaken.

Ay! I used it pala to remove my lipsticks. Specially the lasting ones I got. Yung talagang naiiwan sa lips kahit mag toothbrush ka.
