Another MMFF film review here. :) And another action movie. Sorry guys, I actually have BOYfriend now and apparently, the rumors are true, boys really prefers action films. Hahahahaha!

But in all honesty, I love the fact that I was able to catch the much sensible films first. Of course, the beauty of MMFF movies are the variety of films they offer. They got comedy for the kids and the entire family, some horror usually, action films and those award-winning films that would bring out the film critic in you.

10000 Hours is one of those film. They won, like 15 awards last MMFF Awards Night and I must say that this film really deserved it. It has that Hollywood Film vibe in it. And being an avid movie goer, of both local and foreign films, I could honestly say that this one is top-notch.

The story-line is superb. Sabi sa inyo mala-Hollywood film. Tipong Bourne Identity levels. Parang ganun. It really does have a strong storyline that was wonderfully executed. Galing ni Bb. Joyce Bernal. And I heard this film has an all-women off-screen team. They truly deserve those awards.

Nice cinematography as well. Hindi mukhang tinipid. Hindi mukhang cheap. Clear shots, nice camera angles, pulidong pulido. Even the running scenes, though parang they made it a bit shaky (para mukhang tumatakbo din yung camera) doesn’t make me dizzy. Yung ibang movies kasi ganun diba? Parang, OMG! Sana nag-tripod nalang kayo!!! Hahahaha…

Now let’s talk about the actors – Robin Padilla truly deserves the Best Actor trophy. Galing! Ang layo sa “Bad Boy” Robin na kinasanayan ko. That Robin antics na laging ginagaya ng jowa ko (sa kasamaang palad). He was able to portray a role so far from his forte. Imagine? Senador na may angas. Grabe lang! And not to mention, ang gwapo-gwapo nya padin!!!! Ansaveh ni Daniel Padilla teh?! Parang di tumatanda. Di ko kinaya.

The other actors are also great. Of course, Michael De Mesa, Mylene Dizon and Pen Medina did a fantastic job. Eh kaya lang given na yun sa kanila. Magagaling talaga silang aktor eh. Expected na. But I loved Carla Humphries here. May talent si ate! At ang red lipstick na bongga, bagay na bagay. I must also commend Ketchup’s funny antics. Well, expected na din naman yun sa kanya. Sana lang mas binigyan sya ng mas madaming eksena. Para medyo nakakatawa. Kaya lang I guess too much of Ketchup would kinda ruin the “vibe” of 10000 Hours na medyo seryoso at parang laging may oras na hinahabol.

But nasayangan ako sa role ni Bella Padilla. I guess somebody else (maybe a bit older?) would be perfect for the role. Medyo kulang pa sa bigas si Bella. Konting hasa pa siguro. Sayang coz she got one of the main roles. Pero okay na din, kasi jowa nya ang producer so I guess kelangan talaga andun sya. Hihihihi… #chismis

This film truly deserves your time and effort. Sayang naman if you won’t watch it. Specially now that the Pork Barrel Scam is kinda nakakalimutan na naman ng mga Pilipino. Hey guys!! Wag natin kalimutan. Mag-tweet, mag-status sa Facebook. Paramdam sa gobyerno na hindi tayo nakakalimot.

Go ahead and watch it. Great film.

This movie is awesome!!! Promise!

I really didn’t  know that there’s a Disney movie coming up. But all my Social Media sites are buzzing with Frozen. Everyone, apparently is hooked on the movie and it’s soundtrack. So last weekend, The Companion, Sissy and I watched this film.

It’s a story of two sisters – Elsa and Anna. Elsa, the eldest is cursed She could turn everything she touches into ice. Awesome  powers I must say. I won’t go into details anymore and  spoil the fun but it was really really interesting.

I love that this movie is all about sisters. Some say that they can relate to Elsa more (the elder sister with a secret and who run away from home) while the others say they relate more to Anna (the fun-loving, oozing with positivity and innocence). But I can relate to both of them. A part of me understands Elsa, being an elder sister. You really would do everything in your power to protect your younger siblings. While a part of me is so like Anna – I would believe in the goodness of my sister whatever happens and I would like to spend every minute with my sister.

I am so glad  I have a sister. This movie made me realize how lucky I am for having one. I am blessed to have a sister who’ll always stay by my side no matter what. I remember years ago, I had an issue with my parents. A major issue that lasted for months. I had no one. My aunts, some cousins, grandparents and uncles are all judging me. Hating on me. I only have my sister and my Nanay (Mila’s mother). I only have them as my forever kakampi. And my sister never left me. That made us closer even more. And now, I consider her as one of my best friends. The first person I’d share my deepest, darkest secrets. The first person I’d call if I needed anything. Because I know she won’t judge me. She loves me. She had no choice anyway. Harhar!

I really recommend that you guys watch it! And bring your kids if you have any. They’d surely enjoy all the singing!! And oh! It’s soooo funny as well.

P.S.: Still wasn’t able to blog as much. Ugh! Hectic month! I’d try to gear up within this week. I have loads of posts sitting on my drafts. So watch out for that.

PLDT FIBR and NUFFNANG invited me and my plus one to watch The Hunger Games: Catching Fire last Thursday night at Shangri-La Mall. And since the sister has been bugging me about Catching Fire since last year, I asked her to be my plus one on this date.

Honestly, I was kinda hesitant to watch this film because Catching Fire is my favorite of the Hunger Games Trilogy. For me that’s the best. I simply can’t put the book down. And so, I embraced myself of the disappointments just incase.

And boy! I was so wrong! I really, really loved the film. So much! I think they gave a good book justice which is like, so rare especially for bookworms like myself. I always get so engrossed and so attached to my books that sometimes, if the movie version sucks, I got so affected. Hahahaha!

It must be because Jennifer Lawrence is really such a great actress. She is. What makes Catching Fire really interesting is the confused but so raw emotions of Katniss. She loves Gale but wanted to protect Peeta. She wanted to help the Districts but she so wanted to protect her family. She’s angry. She’s scared. She want them dead. But she wanna run away from them. And all of those, all those crazy emotions are shown on the film. And Jennifer Lawrence gave Katniss Everdeen the justice it deserves. You could really see the raw emotion just by looking at her eyes. Such a talented young lady she is, not to mention extremely beautiful and hot!

Of course, I must acknowledge Josh Hutcherson’s portrayal of Peeta. My hero. I am forever team Peeta since book 1. And I must say that he did look extra gwapo in this film. Promise! I thought I’d be swooning over Liam Hemsworth like I did on the first film but no! He’s so much hotter now. Hotter than Liam I think. Yay! And he’s also perfect for the role. Such a great actor that guy is. Pure love for Katniss. Just pure love.

And of course, the rest of the cast did their job well. All are great. The execution, the acting, the effects. Everything is just nicely done. Without overdoing anything. I also liked the fact that they stayed on the original plot. I hate it when films do that. Change so much of the plot, only to make it worst. Or omit certain scenes that are crucial. I think they showed everything nicely.

I highly recommend this film. Promise. You would surely enjoy. :)

I was happy prepping some photos for the blog when sissy asked me to go out with her. Nood daw kami She’s The One – a Filipino chick flick starring Bea Alonzo, Dingdong Dantes and Enrique Gil. I said yes because I was bored to death at home and because I realized I’m not watching movies as much as I used to. Dati lahat ng latest napapanood ko, ngayon talaga hindi na gaano. Haven’t even watched Cloudy With a Chance Meatballs yet! The horror!

So, how was it?!!

It was actually a good film. I thought it’s just that typical bestfriends where the girl is actually inlove with the boy but the boy is too dense to realize it yada yada! What set this one apart is the fact that Enrique’s character came. He’s 8yrs younger than Bea’s character here. But he was the one brave enough to admit and realize that Bea is actually worth finding and worth loving. See the point? Hahahaha!

Actually, it’s not as awesome as the typical Bea Alozo movie (JL-Bea) that is, but I would say that you won’t feel robbed of your 200 bucks anyway. Plus Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes are both superb actors. Dun palang sa eksenang mangilid ngilid ang luha ni Dingdong, winner na! Hahahaha! Though I must say the Enrique really has too hone his craft more. Dami pa nyang kakaining bigas. Isama mo na palay! Layo lang sa Bea Alonzo levels of acting. But he’s young. He could do so much better in the future I know.

I also have to mention that Bea Alonzo is extremely hot in this movie!!! I swear!! And nakadami si Enrique Gil sa kissing scene. Quota nga daw according to the companion. Hihihihi..

So go ahead, watch it if you want something that’ll make you kilig!

The sister and I went to the mall to get ourselves some BB Cream. Run out of my stash and I was planning to change brand coz the one I’ve been using for more than a year is not moisturizing enough for my skin anymore. I think being pregnant makes my skin more dry.

Anyway, after our BB Cream search - the sissy, her friend and I decided to catch Momzillas! I was telling them to watch About Time but they wanted the Pinoy movie so I gave in.

Glad I did! It was oh so funny!! Corny, yes! But really funny!!! Maricel Soriano’s funny antics is to die for. And well, Eugene Domingo is no-brainer. Both of them are hilarious in this film. I’d find myself wondering why I was laughing my pants off when in fact it was oh-so corny. Pero waley! Corny ata talaga ako.

I didn’t actually like the supporting cast except for Mel Martinez and that gay-brother of Eugene but well, Maricel and Eugene are enough. More than enough actually.

It’s such a light film. Walang effort. Just enough to make you laugh. So if you want something as easy breezy, go catch this film. But we warned, corny talaga sya promise!!

After getting my lab results yesterday, the companion and I decided to have a movie date since we’ll be missing each other next week. I’m off to Palawan for 5 freakin’ days and he keeps on saying he’ll miss me. *Mushy*

He wanted to watch a horror film to my dismay. In all honesty, lagi nyang pinu-push ang horror everytime we’re at the cinema na sya naman kinakabadtrip ko! Tigas ng skull eh! Sabi ng I don’t have the heart for horror films.

Anyway, I dragged him to Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters just because I wanna watch the film. I saw the first installment and actually liked it so I’m looking forward for the 2nd installment.

So how’s the movie you say? It was fun. I love greek mythology so the mere mention of Zeus, Hermes, Odysseus, Hades and Poseidon is enough to catch my attention. Like the first film, the effects are great and the storyline is just as captivating. I love Logan Lerman. He’s a sweetheart and his portrayal of Percy Jackson is just superb.

I love the action scenes and I think this movie is a great teaser for the next film. Now, I wanna know what happens now that Thalia, daughter of Zeus is alive. Nyahahaha!

Oh! And bring me those Percy Jackson books please. I wanna read it!!!

I started the long weekend with a movie date with my bestfriends. Minsan lang mag-aya si Erlie kaya kahit borderline pulubi na ako, gorabels and lola nyo!

She wanted to watch Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo? starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. I actually read the book, and so I was really interested on how they’d come up with a movie based on that book. Kasi naman, it’s not a novel! It’s just a collection of problems posted by Ramon Bautista fans and Ramon’s hilarious answers.

Apparently, they just used the introduction on the book. Where Ramon Bautista gave insights on Wasak na Puso and the Reasons Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo. But the movie is wonderful. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not an award-winning kind of film with wonderful storylines and great cinematography but it’s definitely a fun film. I expect that anyway. Since it’s based on a Ramon Bautista book.

I love that they we’re able to touch some really delicate themes without overdoing it or putting too much drama. I love that it shows moral lessons in the best way a Filipino can, thru comedy.

Like that scene with RHBill and the manangs of the church. Like that finally-coming-out-of-the-closet-scene of Maximo (Kim’s brother). Pokwang’s religious practices that actually made her not notice that her children are growing up and are having problems of their own. Pero promise! Matatawa ka habang napapaisip. I love it!

But I guess everything boils down to Kim’s performance. I am not a Kim Chiu fan. Ang payat nya. Ayoko sa kanya. But she has proven her worth thru this film. She is hilarious!! Subtle na mga banat pero andito eh (sabay turo sa dibdib/puso). The way she said PAKSHET! Ang lupit! Bet ko! And ang bonggang red pekpek shorts after that stint with Xian (where Xian broke her heart) is just waaaay awesome. Sana ganun ginawa ni Sarah sa It Takes a Man and a Woman instead of removing her jacket. Red pekpek shorts for revenge!! BET!!!!

Another fave character is Maximo. I just to specifically mention him. Though the entire cast did a great job. Even Mylene Dizon’s OA acting is superb. But Maximo is just waaaaaayy too funny. Walang linya, taas lang ng kilay, hagalpak na ko sa kakatawa. Hindi ko sya kaya teh!

Just watch it guys. Promise. Hindi masasayang ang Php200 nyo. It’ll give you a good laugh.

Watched The Wolverine last night with the sister and the boyfriend after my check up. You see, back on the days when I am not yet a big movie fan – Wolverine is one of the few that really captured my attention. I am a big Wolverine fan. And I love Hugh Jackman. I honestly think that he is one of the most gorgeous man alive. Agree?

So it’s a no brainer that I won’t let this movie pass. Haven’t watched the trailer so I really don’t know what to expect. I was awed by the fact that this film is like Japanese movie altogether. Puro Hapon ang cast bonggels!

So you ask if I liked it? Of course! Its Wolverine. Hello?! What’s not to love? And Hugh Jackman as usual is superb. The boyfie loved it but not as much. Must be because it doesn’t have too much of kabog sa dibdib stunts. But we all know Wolverine right? Puso talaga ang panglaban. Pero paglabas namin sa cinema, he’s trying to imitate Wolverine. Parang baliw lang.

That scene where they are trying to capture The Wolverine by using arrows on him to stop him from moving and then using that deadly venomous arrow really broke my heart. Kaloka! All for Mariko! I wish I’m Mariko thhat very instant. To know that a man is willing to do everything within his power to save me. Waaaahh!

I still think though that the stunts are enough. Not too much but enough to keep your attention.

Was finally able to catch this movie with the companion yesterday!! I have been waiting for this film since last year after they released the “Banana” minion teaser.

We initially went to Robinson’s Ermita but it was jam-packed with kids and kids at heart so we decided to move to SM Manila where there are more cinemas showing the film.

Since it was a weekend, we watched it with loads of kids. And the cinemas are all packed with families. It was fun watching a cartoon film with kids actually. They are so cute. They laugh so hard the minute they saw the minions. And I must admit that it was hilarious.

I love those little minions!! They are the cutest. They are so funny in a cute way. The kids are all enjoying the film. Everyone’s glued on the screen. No crying baby there. All happy little faces.

And so my verdict? If you have a kid, a niece or a nephew. Or if you have a little inaanak, catch it with them and I’m sure you’d enjoy big time and they’d love you big time as well.

As for the kids at the heart, I am sure you’d find the film funny and would definitely take out all the stress from the busy week. But of course do not expect wonderful storyline or the likes. It was made for the kids anyway. And this film really focuses on the minions and the way they made everyone’s life a little funnier and happier.

Just so you know, my sister is a big Enchong Dee fan. As in huge! I think her love for Enchong Dee is almost as huge as my love for Carlo Aquino. So it’s a no-brainer that she dragged us to the latest Enchong Dee film. Kelangan daw full support kami sa baby nya. :)

And there we were. All 6 of us – sissy, my brother, my cousin and her gf and the companion all went to the cinema to catch Four Sisters and a Wedding.

I didn’t expect anything. Well, based on the trailer (which I must say is not that teasing), it looks like a comedy film. About 4 older sisters trying to stop their baby brother from marrying a chararat (ugly) girl he just met 4 months ago.

So basically, I didn’t put my hopes up. I just expect to be entertained. Anyway, it stars Toni and Angel and Bea - 3 of the best actresses we got here. That alone made this film worth my money.

But boy! I love the film!!!! I love it so so much.

Carmi Martin’s portrayal of chararat’s mom is just hilarious. She’s this super rich, ex-beauty queen mom with heavily botox’ed face and a fake Russian accent making her extra funny!! I swear! You’d even notice that the suppressed laughter of the 4 sisters are all real. It’s probably super hard to film because they can’t contain their laughter.

Janus Del Prado is good as usual and equally funny. I think him being Toni’s bf here is a big break for him considering he’d portray the part really well. And I must agree with my bestfriend, him and all the other JL sidekicks must have a sitcom. Palibhasa Lalake type of sitcom. I swear! It’ll be a huge hit. Calling Ma’am Charooooo!!!

Of course Angel Locsin and Toni Gonzaga and Bea Alonzo are all great. OMG! That big family confrontation scene made me cry buckets. Ang galing nilang lahat especially Bea. I feel her character there. I was really crying hard because her lines hit home. You must watch it. It’s actually a great film. It shows the real side of families. I mean, not really super real and all because it’ll be so boring if not done artistically but it’s as real as it gets. The entire cinema was crying. As in with singhot-singhot cry. And I haven’t cried on the cinema that much. Mas nakakaiyak sya sa “sana ako nalang.. ako na lang ulet” line of Basha. You must watch!

I love love LOVE it!! Worth every cent.

And oh! I must mention (for my sister’s happiness) that Enchong Dee did great in this movie. I didn’t know he could actually act until I watch him earlier. Aba! Aba! Aba!!! May potential si kuya.

When my friend IM’d me to ask if I’d want to watch a movie with her and another friend, I just said yes without even asking what the movie is. It’s a Friday and I have all the right to relax. :)

Needless to say, I went to the cinema without even seeing the trailer of the movie I’m about to watch. I didn’t even read the synopsis. I don’t have the luxury of time to do that. I just trust my friend’s better judgment and prayed that I won’t feel sorry for my Php250.

And boy I was awed!!

This movie is by far one of the best one I’ve seen this year (except maybe Silver Linings Playbook who has a different genre anyway). Of course Iron Man is great, Furious 6 is awesome. But this one is simply the best! All three of us who watched it are in awe after leaving the cinema.

It’s basically a caper film but the one that sets it apart is that the criminals are these 4 magicians known as the 4 Horsemen and their crimes are televised. :) Making it a whole lot of fun.

The movie starts with snippets of the 4 magicians’ individual shows and how great they are. Each then received an invitation card and was brought together by an unknown benefactor or “the boss”. Then found themselves performing in Vegas as the 4 Horsemen.

Their Vegas performance finale is robbing a French bank with the help of an audience. And guess what? The French Bank found themselves robbed at the exact same time. And so the Interpol and the FBI was called to investigate the highly publicized robbery. The 4 magicians were even arrested and was questioned but they were released because of lack of evidence. Tama nga naman! Anong sasabihin nila sa judge? Ni-magic nung 4 yung pera?

It was then followed by another wonderful performance but this time, they robbed their manager. The funny thing is, they never took a cent of what they robbed. All of the money are given to the audience.

And so it was an endless habulan. Of magicians and the FBIs. There was even a car chase scene. But the thing that makes me like it so much is the fact that it was never boring. I find myself so engaged while watching the film. I would listen intently to the simple dialogues hoping to get a clue of what their next move is. Morgan Freeman’s role of being the ultimate fake magician’s secret revealer is awesome. He’d give hints on how the act was performed. The tricks that the thieves did in order to make one great show. And I find myself trying to dissect everything as I watch.

I also love the characters. It’s an all star cast and everyone was great. Jesse Eisenberg (of Facebook), Isla Fisher (of Confessions of Shopaholic), Dave Franco (James Franco’s brother and star of 21 Jump Street) and Woody Harrelson (of The Hunger Games) did a great great job! Woody Harrelson is a mentalist and was way too funny. There was never a dull moment on the film. I love the portrayal of the characters and them being this relaxed magicians kahit na nangangamoy kulong sila.

I can see that it was wonderfully directed and the stunts are wonderfully executed. It’s such an eye candy without being too much of a trying hard. What I love most is that you are being entertained but at the same time it just makes you think.

The storyline is something unique for me. If you saw anything similar then by all means leave a comment so I can watch that film. But so far it’s unique for me. Using 4 magicians as the main suspects of a highly organized crime is something wonderful. Tipong nakakaloka level.

And the twists!!!!! OMG! I won’t give spoilers. You know me, that’s not my thing. So go find out yourselves. I promise you wont regret it! :)

Go watch please!!! I am sure as hell you’d enjoy.

I initially planned to watch this film on my birthday before the staycation. But we ran out of time coz my APE ends kinda late. We only had time for lunch before we head to the hotel.

And so when the companion asked me to watch it last night, even if I know its payday weekend, I gave in. :) And as expected, even if its already on its 2nd week, the cinemas are all jam-packed. There has been loads of hype for this film so I was really excited.

I’ve watched all Fast and Furious films. I am a sucker for cars and motorcycles so this specific franchise really interests me. Even way back on those days when I don’t really appreciate movies.

And this film truly delivers. Everything I expected is here. It’s an action-packed film full of car chase scenes, wonderful car maneuvers, heavy fight scenes and loads of comedy.

I just have to say its awesome because of the wonderfully executed stunts and heart-thumping scenes. It’s just waaaaayy awesome.

But I just have to mention one thing, there’s a scene in this film where the villain had a talk with Toretto. He said that every man should have a code to live by, his is PRECISION while Toretto’s is FAMILY. Initiating that Toretto’s code made him very predictable.

That scene made me think of my own code. I mean, in this life, we all live for something. Something we value, something we love, something important. And so what’s mine?

Probably its gonna be TODAY. I live for today. I live my life for today. Yesterday is done. Tomorrow is whole new chapter. I live for today and so I live my life to the fullest. And I am happy.

It’s a movie you shouldn’t miss if you love hard core action and race cars.

I was so excited to watch this film. :) And my HS bestfriend is much more excited as she wanted us to catch it on the first day of screening. But getting iMax tickets are so so difficult! I swear!

Anyway, we finally got decent seats on a Saturday morning screening which actually turned out great since my friend and her friend are Call Center peeps so it worked on their schedule. :) If you follow me on twitter you’d probably know how excited I was for my Tony Stark date at iMax.

And boy! Iron Man didn’t disappoint at all! We all love Tony’s wit and sarcasm and funny lines and there are loads of those in this film. But what I loved most is that they have finally shown the soft side of Tony. That side where there is pure love for Pepper. I am beyond kilig on their love story. On the first 2 installments, I find Gwyneth just another superhero leading lady. But in this film, she has transformed into every woman’s envy. Pangarap kong maging Pepper!! Yung mahal na mahal lang ni Iron Man!!!!! Nakakalokaaaaaaaaaa!!

Watching it on iMax proved to be the best decision ever. I love iMax to the core. All of my iMax experience are perfect. Except pag may tumatayo in the middle of the film or pag may pumapasok while the film has already started. I mean, come on!

Anyway, its action packed and is very much of an eye candy on 3D. I love the cinematography and the effects. I love the action scenes. Though its not as action packed as GIJoe, I still think it has enough of those to thrill the boys. And enough heart to touch the women. Another perfect movie date.

I mean, whatever I say here I know won’t matter. You’d watch Iron Man whatever the review is right? But here’s my take on this, if you love 3D, shelling out extra bucks for an iMax experience is definitely worth it!!!! :) And oh! Stay for the after credits my dears. I am excited to watch the stories of the other Avengers. :) Eto na naman po tayooooooo..

Never heard of it until a friend asks me out to watch it. :)

It’s a Tom Cruise sci-fi movie that’s set sometime on the 2070’s. It started by telling what happened to earth sometime between 2017-2070’s. We got invaded by aliens, our moon was destroyed, mankind won the war and now they are all migrating to a moon in Jupiter! Whoah!

Jack Harper (TC) and Victoria (Andrea Riseborough) are like the “clean up” team. They are taking care of the earth while the humans are sucking all the water from earth to be transported to Jupiter. There are still some aliens left on the planet so they have this robot police that sweeps the area. Jack’s memory was swiped but he remembers a certain girl. The girl who turned out to be his wife Julia (Olga Kurylenko).

It was actually a very nice film. Though it may seem boring to some, I find it really interesting. It’s boring coz it’s all narrative at the start. Very limited fight scenes. But loads of whoah and oooohhh on the graphic and the storyline. I find interesting coz it made me think. It made me wonder. It really does transport me to 2070’s where everything is different. Though I am hoping that no alien invasion would happen sometime in 2017. Oh dear! Hindi pa ko ready ma-meet si Kokey! Nyaharhar…

If you want an action-packed film, don’t waste money on this one. But if you want something to ponder on, if you want your mind to work while watching a movie then by all means watch it. And pakisabi sa akin kung sino/ano ba talaga si Sally! Isa lang kasi syang triangle sa end ng movie eh. Hahahahaha!

Watched this with my HS best friends and I sure had fun!!

Wasn’t able to watch the first installment of the G.I.Joe franchise so I was kinda lost on the plot of this second film. So I suggest that you watch the first film if you really wanna follow the happenings on this movie. BUT even though I was kinda lost with the story, that doesn’t stop me from enjoying! :)

It’s super action-packed. Breath-taking stunts. Awesome fight scenes. Hot men and gorgeous abs. Everything you’re looking for is here. It’s more than entertaining really. :) Watched it on 3D and I was really amazed on how wonderfully executed the effects are. This movie won’t give you room to breathe. It’s action after action after action after action.

But I must say that my favorite on this film would have to be Storm Shadow.

Just look at him and I know you’d understand why I so love this guy. First he’s Chinese (my personal weakness) or rather, Korean. Second, and most importantly, look at his body!!!! :) When he went out of that “aquarium” thingy shirtless and did his fight scene, I was really hysterical. Sumabog ang ovaries ko!!! Hindi ko kinaya. I went there and was super excited to see Channing Tatum and got my heart broken because he died earlier on the film (parang si Liam Hemsworth sa Expendables). But Storm Shadow sure did heal my broken heart. And I think I feel deeply inlove with him. Char!

This Korean actor is actually great on fight scenes! Well, they all are actually. Snake Eyes is played by martial artist and you could really notice his suave moves in this film. The Rock of course is great and the girls are just awesome! Bruce Willis sure adds flavor on this film and a lot of comedy. I loved how they showed the Channing-The Rock friendship. It was so real and very funny. Lahat magaling. It was well directed actually.

This is perfect for couples for their movie dates. The guys would love the action, while the girls would enjoy the abs! Win-win situation. Everybody happy!

Mila: Dalian nyo na. Manood na tayo. Sa wakas after 20yrs makakanood din ako ng sine!!!

I always ask Mila to go on a movie date with me kaso ayaw nya. Sayang daw ang pera. :) But with this JL and Sarah film, sya mismo ang nag-aya. She’s a big Sarah G. fan and has always loved the values of that girl. I think every mother does.

This movie is the third installment of the very popular and top-grossing “Bebe Koh” films of Sarah and JL. With the success of A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life, this movie is sure to be a big hit. Lahat ata tayo gustong makita ang BRAVER, bolder, stronger na Laida Magtalas!! And we all want to see the Miggy Montenegro and Laida Magtalas happy ever after.

The first 2 films are my favorites. Tipong pag nakita mo sa Cinema One or PBO, papanoorin mo padin kahit libong beses mo na syang napanood. But this film is a whole notch higher than the two. It shows a more mature take on love. Wala na yung forever na kilig girl crush ni Laida. This movie is all about forgiveness. That it really takes a man and a woman to actually love and forgive and decide to spend the rest of your life with that special someone.

I love that like the 2 previous movies, this film is very funny. Zoila and friends are a sure hit on their comedic antics. Bentang benta padin kumbaga. :) Very Filipino. And very realistic. I can imagine my friends doing exactly the same thing kung ako si Laida. Tipong idadaan lahat sa joke ang mga bagay bagay. Eh ano kung ex kayo? Aasarin namin kayo!!! Hahahaha…

JL of course is superb in this film. Pero “kelangan pa bang i-memorize yon?”. Eh si JL sya. That guy is really a great actor. At kahit wala syang abs, puputok ang ovaries mo sa kanya sa kilig!! Nakakaloka ka Miggy Montenegro!!

Sarah here is a revelation. I guess lahat tayo tuwang tuwa sa mga little improvements ni Sarah. Yung “almost” kiss nila ni JL, yung pagpapakita nya ng legs during the honeymoon scene. Yung mga kiss nya kay JL during the proposal scenes are actually very small things or very mild things pero parang ang laking improvement na! Si Mila nga hindi makamove on.

Overall, this one is a great film. If only for the entertainment it brings. You go to the movie house expecting to be kilig and fall in love with Laida and Miggy and you sure would get it with a whole lot of bonus. Its fun. Its entertaining. It shows a different take on love but on a whole lighter note. Tipong light film lang na feel good. What we all need in this world.

Struck by Lightning is a film written, produced and starred by the one and only Kurt Hummel of Glee – Chris Colfer. This young man is so talented!!

Anyway, it’s a story of a young man who was struck by lightning and died and then recounted the way he blackmailed his friends into contributing into some literary magazine that he’s publishing so he could get accepted on the collage that he so wanted.

He is from a broken family with a sick on the head mother and is part of the geek and is always at the bottom heap of the high school pyramid. The film talks about the stereotyping of most high schools and how those that are not labeled as cool are bullied and everything. Just like Glee but without singing and with much more drama.

It shows how each and everyone of the those labeled as “cool” has dirty secrets that he used in blackmailing them. Oh the perks of being a journalist. Hahaha!

It’s a nice film actually. Beautifully written and is just perfect for teens. So to Kurt Hummel – good job kiddo! :)

Right after our company outing, my friends and I decided to extend our already very tiring day by catching this film. Saw it on the trailer and I kinda liked it so I said yes. And besides, I need to keep up with the movies these days.

The movie is about a boy named Jack who, for some luck or maybe the lack of it, found himself holding a couple of beans. Saw his house being hoisted upwards by a tree with a princess in tow. Then, just because he likes the princess, found himself getting up the giant tree to rescue his beloved. Its actually your usual Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale but is more gruesome and packed on 3D.

So did I like it?

I did. It was heart thumping action film with giants and beans and crowns and bad guys and a lot of running. We were actually joking because Jack became the giant slayer and is feeling like a giant killer expert after killing one old, yucky giant chef. Hahahaha…

Overall it was entertaining. Something you could watch with your barkada and just have fun while at the cinema. The movie is a bit funny and is action-packed. Though the start of the film is a bit slow but has kept up with much action as the story progress.

The first time I heard about this movie is thru one of my college bestfriend Erlie. She was so giddy while telling me the plot of this romantic comedy film. Its about these 2 crazy people who fell inlove in their own crazy way. Then before I know it, it has been a favorite of those award giving bodies with J.Law bagging every Best Actress trophy there is. Obviously, it super catches my attention.

It’s a story about a guy named Matthew who has bipolar disease that was aggravated by him seeing his wife having an affair. He beat the sh*t out of the guy and almost killed him. Which I think I’d do, bipolar or not. And this led him to a mental institution for a couple of years. Then in his lame attempt to get in touch with his ex-wife Nikki, she met and had a deal with a another crazy girl named Tiffany. Tiffany’s husband died a couple of months (or maybe years) back and she was devastated. She’s so hurt that she ended up hooking up with the entire population of her office (maybe a couple more outside) making her Tom’s whore widow.

Basically both of them are so hurt and so shattered and so not in their right state of mind. But by some twist of fate, they met and they fell in love and everything just got better. They danced because that’s what Tiffany likes and because Matthew is so eager to get in touch with his ex-wife thru Tiffany who’ll only do it (give his letter) if he’d join a dance contest with him. But in the end, nothing really matters anymore except their crazy love.

I was expecting a heavy drama film because of all the awards it got but it was actually a romantic-comedy film. I can’t believe I was laughing my pants off their craziness. I think its so true and so real that’s why it feels so close to the heart. Matthew’s father is an OC as well and they’ve got crazy friends who joins on their craziness and just made the movie so perfect. I was laughing so hard because even their dance routine when they joined the contest is sooooooooo CRAZY! (I am having an over use of the word crazy on this post but I can’t help it. Forgive me dear grammar police!)

Anyway, behind all the fun and crazy ideas and those random silly things that they are doing in the movie, it is actually a story about life. There are tons of quotable quotes. You’ll learn a whole lot from those two crazy people. It was fun and I can’t wait to get my hands on the book. I wanna read it because I know I’ll appreciate it more.

I loved the film but you know me, I am sure I’d love the book even better! :)

And oh! Now I know why J.Law won all those trophies. She really deserved it. Her performance on this very light and comedic film is outstanding. It was so real. You could feel it by just looking in her eyes. She’s really a great actress! And yeah! Bradley Cooper is waaaayy too hot and too funny in this film. I think he just stole my heart over there. :)

This movie is so good that I know it’ll last a lifetime. I am keeping a copy in case I need a feel-good movie with lots of lesson in it. I know it’ll stand the test of time.

I am crazy. I am surrounded by crazy people. But I am loved and I am happy of my craziness. I am proud. And I so wish that someday, I’ll find someone even crazier who can put up with all my craziness so we can live being crazy in this crazy world. I believe that every tragedy has comedy in it. I am actually good with that. And so for me, this movie is as real as my life.
