I love Carlo Aquino, so it's a no-brainer that I had to watch this film. This is his first "mainstream" title role after so many years and I'm so so so happy for him. Kaso nakakainis kasi ngayon ang dami dami ng may crush sa kanya sa FB. Samantalang dati, lahat sila Carlo who?

1. Tangina. Ang sakit ng pelikula na to. This is my tweet after watching the film and I swear di kinaya ng extended number of character ni Twitter ang damdamin ko. Ang dami ko gusto itanong. Ang dami ko gusto isigaw. Pero for some weird reason, kahit masakit yung movie, I know deep in my heart that it's how it's supposed to be. Yun talaga sya.

Tanginaaaaa!! @carloaquino11 sinaktan nyo kami!! Walang gusto lumabas ng sinehan! Bakit ganun?? Bigyan nyo kami ng closure!!! Manonood ako bukas ulit. Baka bukas mau closure na. #MeetMeInStGallen

2. Of course, Carlo Aquino is Carlo Aquino. Fetus palang sya, we all know that he is one of the best actors in the industry. Di lang nabibigyan ng chance talaga sa di ko malamang dahilan. And seeing him on the big screen, all grown up (pasensya na kayo, bata palang nga kasi sya mahal ko na sya) is surreal. I wanna touch him. I wanna touch his face and hold him. Mata palang kasi nya umaarte na. Parang nung nasaktan sya, I wanna run inside the screen and hug him. Ganun sya eh. The giggly girls (oo giggly girls talaga tawag ko sa kanila kasi wala silang ginawa the entire time na nanonood kami kundi mag giggle. Ampotah! Take note ka-age ko sila ah!) are so mesmerized with his handsomeness. Gusto ko mag-smirk, magtaas ng kilay sabay hair flip. Sabi sa inyo gwapo sya eh! Hahaha! Alisin nyo na si JL sa eksena, sa kanya talaga dapat ang kornona eh.

3. Even before watching the film, nag sorry na ko kay Bella Padilla. Sabi ko kasi, since andito si Carlo known issue na yung hindi ko sya mapansin at all. Coz I know my focus is on Carlo and Carlo alone. Pero eps ka Bella!!!! Di ka din nagpakabog eh. Inaano mo ko eh. Hindi mo hinayaan yung pagmamahal ko kay Carlo na deadmahin ka. Ang galing mo baksh! Hayup! Yung scene where she cried on the bathroom is just intense. Yung nginungudngod mo yung face mo sa towel para di ka marinig sa labas is just so fucking real!!! See? I was just typing it now and I'm starting to tear up. And that morning after sex scene? Huhuhuhu.. Grabe eh! Ang galing nyo lang ni Carlo dun.

4. It's one of the most relatable film I've ever seen. Syempre alisin mo yung St. Gallen epek and all that sheez but overall, super relatable and realistic. Yung mga reactions nina Jesse at Celeste? Yung mga kagaguhan nila. Grabe! I'm not saying that what they did is correct or that dapat ganun din ginagawa ng mga tao ah, more like eh totoo naman na as human beings na nagmamahal may mga ginagawa tayo na mapapaisip ka talaga at sasabihin mo.."bullshit na buhay to! Ang bobo ko." Or tatanungin mo nalang si destiny kung inaano mo ba sya at bakit parang ang laki ng galit nya sayo?

5. Parang lahat tayo may TOTGA (the one that got away) but in this film mare-realize mo bakit TOTGA sya. Sabi ni Jesse, for once daw gawin syang tao ni Celeste at hindi lang yung ideal man nya. Sabi ni Celeste siguro nga kaya di sila pwede ni Jesse kasi nga Jesse is her ideal man and di yun pwede masira. Kaya din siguro minsan akala mo may mga feelings na hindi nawawala. But if you look deeply, you just actually love the idea of that person and the person itself because you don't know him that much. Minsan okay na tayo na kinikilig ka sa kanya from a distance tapos mag smile ka kasi ang gwapo nya pero yun na yun. (hello TNP! cheret!)

6. The songs in the film are just perfection. It's so great to hear Carlo singing. And his version of You Are My Sunshine is just heart wrenching. At ngayon ko lang nalaman na sad song pala yun. That's the #FabSkye's new favorite song. She would sing it to me and she would call me her sunshine Nakakatuwa. Basta yung chorus lang ah. Wag na yung buong song kasi sad pala sya talaga. Moira's voice is just grabe no? Loko to si Moira eh. Saktan ko to eh. hahaha!

7. All the shots are masterfully done. As in every detail in the film is nice. The wardrobe of Bella and Carlo is on point. The hair. St. Gallen is just perfect. They even made huge paintings ah. Di sya tinipid. Ang galing galing.

8. Nasabi ko na bang masakit sya? Oo masakit sya. Ang sakit sakit nya. Pero ang saya saya nya. Worth it ang pelikula na to.

I'm so happy for Carlo. Sana tuloy tuloy na. Gawa ka pa ng mga ganitong movie. Yung mga movie na pakikiligin kami tapos sasaktan kami tutal dyan ka naman magaling, ang saktan ako ng paulit ulit. Charot!

P.S.: I love you Carlo. At sinabi ko nga pala sa anak ko na ikaw ang Papa nya. So now, she calls you Papa. Pag may little girl na super cute at super bibo at pango na tumawag sayo ng Papa, anak ko yun. Wag kang mag alala may Tatay sya, kamukha nya kaya wag kang kabahan. Bwahahaha...

P.P.S.: Bakit ganito? Pag related kay Carlo yung post ko, laging mukhang gago. Pag ibig talaga nakakabaliw eh. O nakakabangag. Bahala na kayo.

This show was highly recommended by my Bestie Niel and another movie-holic friend so I know I have to catch it. We watched it sing-a-long mode pero nobody's singing along with it inside the cinema. Well, at least nobody sang loud. Kasi for sure yung katabi ko sumi-sing-a-long eh.

So here are my thoughts...

1. This is a musical. So expect great songs and major LSS after the movie. I'm listening to the soundtrack on Spotify as I type this and I guess it'll take me a couple more weeks to get over the songs specially This Is Me.

2. I am a huge Hugh Jackman fan. From Wolverine to Australia to Les Miserables. Meron bang hindi kaya gawin si pareng Hugh? Takte! Kinuha mo na lahat! Acting. Action scenes. Singing. Dancing. Ikaw na besh. Mahal na kita. Come to mama. Cheret!

3. When I heard Zac Efron sing, I smiled a little and remembered his High School Musical days. Gwapo padin si besh and his voice is still really good.

4. I'm not sure if it's just me but Zendaya seems too young for Zac. But I can't deny the chemistry. Kaso parang ang bata talaga ni Zendaya. O baka naman di padin ako nakakamove on sa Vanessa-Zac loveteam? Sorry na!

5. When Jenny Lind sang Never Enough, di ako naka-connect sa kanya. Parang di sya yung kumakanta. And then later on I learned that the actress who played the role did not actually sing it. So ayun kaya pala. I really have a major problem with the way Rebecca Ferguson did all the singing acts. She's stiff. She's off. Ugh! All the castings are perfect except for her. Me thinks.

6. Whoever thought of Michelle Williams as Charity Barnum is just plain genius. I miss her! She's really good. And they have a good on screen chemistry ah. Bagay sila ni Hugh.

8. This movie reminds me so much of another favorite - Moulin Rouge. I really love musicals.

9. I love how the music in so in sync with the entire film. As in every move and every sway perfectly sync with the music. Small details like Charity's scarf swaying to the beat or the laundry. They really have thought of everything.

10. Ayoko na sanang pakinggan yung soundtrack pero tinatawag nya ko. Syet! So kung di kayo ready na kumanta while working, wag na kayo manood. Pero pag di kayo nanood, sayang naman kasi ang ganda nya talaga.

Grabe! There are loads of really interesting movies these days. After Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes and Call Me By Your Name, I know I have to watch this film as well after the very nice reviews I heard from friends.

So here's my thoughts about Mr. & Mrs. Cruz for y'all...

1. Same director as Kita Kita so they share the same feel. Yung tipong weird plot line at mga scenes that would make you say "I will never do that in real life" but still relatable. If you know what I mean.

2. I just felt like there are loads of talking in this film. Buti nalang JC Santos was able to deliver his lines in a realistic manner. So kahit madaming usapan and quotable quotes, di sya mukhang tinutula.

3. I don't wanna watch this film because I am not a fan of Ryza. I'm still not a fan but JC Santos made her tolerable. Ang weird nya kasi magsalita eh.

4. But I have to say that her "nakita ko si Nemo" scene is good. Magaling sya dun. Naiyak ako. And honestly, akala ko I'd cringe sa scene na yun pero winner sya. Good job.

5. Na-miss ko ang El Nido at Puerto Prinsesa. I was there 5 years ago din gaya nila. Bakit kaya di kami nagkita nun? Char!

6. Hopeless romatic ka ba besh? Pwede to sayo!

Wow! I'm sitting here right now thinking of how to do this review. I just wanna write it today because I feel like there's no perfect way to start the love month than to write a review of one of the best romantic film I have ever seen for quite a very long time.

While the entire world is anticipating that blue blood super moon, I've decided to spend my night watching this film and I swear it's so worth it.

I guess I'll do the list thing again for movie review ala-Chico Garcia so here it goes...

1. Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet are two gorgeous human beings with incredible chemistry. The film is oozing with desire. And I love how that desire builds up as you watch it.

2. Timothee Chalamet's raw portrayal of Elio gave me goosebumps. He's the Carlo Aquino of their generation in Hollywood. Remember how Carlo Aquino was able to act with just his eyes? Same for Timothee. Just look at his face and you'll see a myriad of emotions. All bursting. All popping. Raw. Weird. Unprecedented.

3. The cinematography is beyond awesome. Set in a small town in Northen Italy, this film is just gorgeous! Every shot is done with perfection. That shot with a flowing water? Perfect. Those swim trunks on the sink? Perfect. Biking on the small streets in Italy. Oh gorgeous.

4. I love how laid back, simple, easy going the movie is. It's just a love story. One summer love story. But beautifully told. There's no real tension, no fighting, no issues. There are issues but it's raw and real and just relatable.

5. Again, just like what I felt when I read Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of the Universe, I relate so much with the parents. That conversation scene of Elio and his father just broke my heart in a good way. As a parent, I know that this is the kind of film that every parent should watch. Oh my gosh I'm tearing up as I write this. It's just every parent should learn a thing or two from Elio's parents. That while we can't spare our children from the pain, it is very important that we guide them. That we accept them. That we love them. That we let them feel the pain and embrace it.

6. I wanna be like Elio's mum and dad. I wanna know my child. I want to have that look of "knowing" everytime I'd see my daughter smile or smirk or frown. I want my child to feel confident that she could call me anytime to ask me to pick her up on the train station after being left by her love. I want to drive for my child in silence. But then in the silence, we both know that I am here and that I know her pain. It's simple scenes like these that makes this film beautiful.

7. I love that the film is sensual. But not sexual. I love that the sex scenes are not there just because it's nice to shoot two naked bodies in the heat of passion. No. The sex scenes are there because they should be there so you could actually feel how two person could become one. The sex scenes are not explicit. They are there because they are vital. It is sensual without showing so much. It is sensual without making you feel uncomfortable.

8. The director is brilliant. You can see it on every aspect of the film. And I spent last night watching interviews with the director and you could really see that his vision of the film was exactly how it turned out. The feelings that he wants to convey was felt. It was magnificent.

9. This is not just a gay film. It is a love story. It is a romantic film. It is in every aspect a romance.

10. Probably the best movie I have seen in a very long time. I was able to connect to the film. I was engaged. I loved how the film builds up and up and up and then ended while you're on the climax. It is a ride.

If you are a parent, watch it because you will learn. If you are part of the LGBTQ, watch it because it is our story. If you are a teenager, watch it and not just focus on the romance or sex but really learn because one day someday you will fall in love and you will get hurt and I want you to know that it's okay.

I'm still on Call Me By Your Name high. And am now reading the book because, well bookworms! I'm just so glad I watched it. And you should too.

Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes is a hilarious film. Yung tatawa ka ng tatawa hanggang huli. But more than that it's a gay film that shows gayness in all it's colorful glory pero may puso.

Like Die Beautiful, this Jun Robles Lana film is just so much! And here's why:

1. This movie is less drag than Die Beautiful but still as colorful. That shot in Taiwan's gay pride parade is just bursting with fun and gayness. Add  Judy Ann and Angelica's crazy antics and for sure, baklang bakla na sya.

2. OMG! While we're at it, can we just please stop and take a moment of silence for Judy Ann Santos' acting prowess? Jusko! That scene where her husband (played by Joross) confessed his gayness while she's under so much pain killers is just hilarious but oh so painful! Grabe yung aarte ka ng bangag na bangag tapos umiiyak dahil hinihiwalayan ka ng asawa mo? Seryoso, si Juday lang makakagawa nun! Iba sya!

3. Angelica is Angelica. She brought her own brand of comedy on the film. Yung wasak. Yung baliw baliw pero jusko nung acting time na with Juday, di din nagpakabog ang lola mo. If it's a lesser actress who starred with Judy Ann feeling ko lalamunin yun ng buhay. Buti nalang Angelica is sooo good as well. Lumaban eh!

4. OMG! Joross, while we all know is just awesome as a comedy actor, is just a revelation here. Iba si Kuya. Ang galing nya sa La Luna Sangre but here, he is just sooo good! And I'm so happy for him that he is now playing Judy Ann's husband! Di na sidekick. Woohoo! Because honestly this guy deserves it. Galing!

5. While I do not buy that storyline about Judy Ann and Joross' daughter being so understanding and all, I think it's a good call for the director and the writers. There are loads of issues on the movie already. We don't need more.

6. The storyline of Tolayts (sorry! I do not know his name pero yung jowa ni Manang Tiffany sa On The Wings of Love) adds the perfect hilarity pero ang weird nya pa din kasi grabe si Tolayts!!! May pa-abs!!

7. Umihi bago pumasok sa sinehan. Takte! Almost 2 hours akong nagpigil ng wiwi na super hirap because tatawa ka talaga ng tatawa eh. Imagine?! hahaha!

8. Humandang sumakit ang tyan (at pantog) sa kakatawa. Jusko! Jusko talaga!! Mga linyahan nila, di mo kakayanin.
