Review: BAD BIRD, Umami Fried Chicken and my HOLE IN THE WALL Experience (Century City Mall Makati)

I first heard about Hole in the Wall from my fellow blogger and blog reader Edel. Then after that, sunod sunod na ang raves about the place. Hole in the Wall is this posh food court at the Century City Mall. They have different stores where diners could choose from. So when my friend Len invited me last December to try it out, I just can’t say no.

The place is quite cozy. Although very much packed. It’s difficult to score a seat. Probably because it’s the newest craze in town. Alam mo naman ang mga Pinoy, pag may bago they really have to try it out. Pipila at pipila. Funny thing is, I’m with the bunch who hates pila also. Kaya lang, andun na kami eh. Wala na. Kasubuan nalang.

Although I love interior. Very cozy. Very homey. I love the earth tones and brick walls. Above photo is the al fresco dining area. Ganda. I guess that’s one of the reasons why dinadayo talaga sila. It’s really a nice place to stay.

We checked out the place and there are really a wide array of food choices. From sweets to burgers to greens and shawarmas. Ang hirap talaga pumili. We checked out almost every store. And all of us decided to try…

Bad Bird Umami Fried Chicken. Why? Ang haba kasi ng pila sa kanya. It seems like it’s the most popular store. And since we’re already there, why not try the most sought after place right? So yeah. We just found ourselves lining up for this…

I got the Umami Fried Chicken with Corn and Salad for Php 330.00. No drinks yet. Spicy level is safe. Although it’s a bit pricey, I guess it’s still sulit because you got a 2 big pieces of fried chicken and a full corn cut into halves and a bowl of salad.

I find the chicken really yummy. But sabi nga ni JJ, my friend who’s with me, hindi sya worth na pilahan. Yes it’s yummy, the chicken is crispy but it’s not out of this world yummy na kapila pila.

While Joan, another friend, has loads to say about Bad Bird’s system. Kaya daw mahaba ang pila dahil hindi maganda ang sistema nila. Oh well, service is really kinda slow.

But let me just mention that the corn is LOVE. It’s super yummy and goes so well with the fried chicken. And the meal is very filling. The salad though is a bit tangy for my taste but my other friends liked it.

All in all it was still a nice experience. And yup! I’d definitely go back. I wanna try the other stores and I want the ReigningTatay to try out Bad Bird. Our Tatay loves fried chicken so let’s see kung pasado sa kanya. And he also love anything spicy. I guess pasok sa banga si Bad Bird.

This huge globe is located just outside Hole in the Wall. It’s sooooo cute. And sweet.

So have you jumped on the bandwagon ad tried Bad Bird too? How was it?

xoxo,

Reigne
