First and foremost, please say hello to the post-holiday me. *wave*wave* Gained a little of baby fats like the rest of the Philippines and I am now on post-holiday syndrome. You know, that time of the year when the Ayala Triangle is full of yuppies trying to sweat all the holiday fats away. Count a couple more weeks and they’ll disappear one by one. Including me. Harhar!

Them red clutch is actually my Christmas gift to sissy. I just snatched it from her for my look shots. These babies sure adds an extra glam to my look. Agree? :)

My shades and red lippies made this very Audrey Hepburn-esque. I love that with simple details, you could actually glam up a look or dress it down a bit.

This is one of my favorite looks so far. Sexy and sophisticated. Very 2013 Reigne. Hahahahaha!

You’ve seen this dress here in my blog twice already (see here and here). And on both occasions, I tried to dress it down by pairing it with flats. So this time around, I tried to glam it up a bit by adding reds on my entire look. The slim belt and the heels made it party appropriate. And yet, since its black and skirt length is just right, it’s also perfect for office. This look is really one of those day-to-night outfits.

Anyway, this is what I wore on our The King and I date.

I wanted something comfy but I don’t want to be underdressed as well. Last time I went to see a play, I was all too casual that I looked like a high school girl. Hahaha..

Does my outfit looked familiar? If you regularly visit this blog I know you’d already seen me wear this LBD + jelly sandals (check it out here). And yes, if you do notice, I gave the dress a little spin by wearing it backside up. :) Those cute ruffles are too cute to be a back detail forever. I gotta give it a little limelight. But it sure makes a totally different look. Accessories really do play a big part in one’s outfit I must say.

I go easy on accessories with this look to make it more casual. I also pulled the skirt a little up to lengthen my legs and my high bun surely made my look more fresh and relaxed. I guess that’s one more major key in dressing up. Know your intended audience.

Going to have a dinner with some friends at the mall? Surely, a black dress with white undergarments and sky high heels won’t be appropriate. I don’t recall a fine dining restaurant in Greenbelt 3. Hahaha.. Maybe you could wear the dress but tone it down by wearing flats. Or just be plain simple by wearing a pair of shorts and some flats. You are with friends anyway, you need to be comfy. :)

Going to catch a film? Oh you must make sure you have your cardigan with you coz you don’t want to catch a cold. Most cinemas are freezing! So you could wear something light and carry a little cardigan or a shawl, whatever you prefer.

Going to a party? Then it’s time to bring those sky high heels some spin. Go overboard by wearing tons of sparkles. Wear your chiffon and of course those huge diamonds! :) And oh! Make sure you wear make up. Smokey eyes if you must. @_@

Going to work? Read your dress code please. You can try to be a little rascal by wearing something that’s not really usual but make sure you don’t break a rule. Jeans are no-no but if you got a pair of black soft jeans that could easily pass as a pair of slacks, by all means wear it. Just pair it up with a blazer to make it look smart. Just don’t wear too short skirt or wear a blue wig or wear a tee + cropped pants. Come on! Even on dress down days, you must always look smart.

Well I do hope you learn something from me. :) Dressing up is fun. It boost your confidence. It will make you happy. Do not be afraid to wear what you want to express yourself. I know what I wore is not always likeable. Sometimes I break all the rules of fashion but who cares? Everyday, I make sure I look good not for the people around me but for me.

P.S. Apologies for the poor photo quality. My very sweet sister put my camera to rest. Alas! Its broken and I was forced to use my phone camera. Yes! It’s that little black dress that saves every girl from a major fashion dilemma. Who won’t look good on an LBD right?! It’s black thus it makes you look skinnier. It’s little and makes you look taller. Just put on some accessories and the right pair of shoes and you are surely good to go! :) Perfect!

The Little Black Dress is one of Coco Chanel’s major contribution to the fashion lexicon. And with a brilliant mind like Chanel, how could you ever go wrong?! :) Is it too obvious that I adore her?! Oh! I got her quotes written all over my diary when I was a teeny bopper. Wishing that I could someday wear an original Chanel LBD. ;)

The Little Black Dress has also been widely associated to Audrey Hepburn who I also look up to. Her elegance, her class, her sophistication has always been undeniable.

Today, LBD has took on so many forms like the one I’m wearing. It is a long sleeved simple cut dress with ruffles on the back. Just enough drama. Just enough class. :) I paired my dress with a flat jelly sandals. I had a minor accident last Friday night and my ankle hurt like hell so I stay away from heels for a while. These sandals are my life savers. Aren’t they the cutest?! I must tell you that they are also the comfiest. And the best part is, it only costs Php60!! I’m telling you, I just bought 2 pairs. And I told the manang to get me more colors of these love coz I plan to hoard!!! Hahahaha..

I don’t mind wearing cheap items. As long as they look good, I’m okay. I just have issues with imitations because for me, that is like stealing. So I’d rather wear an a “tatak-less” sandals than wear a fake Chanel heels. I mean, come on! What would my dear Coco Chanel tell me if she ever finds out right?! Arrgghh! The shame!

So girls, wag kayong mahihiya na tig-60 lang ang sandals nyo! Kesa naman bumili kayo ng tig-600 na class A imitation. Di ba?! And fashion nowadays doesn’t require much money. Madami akong kakilala na puro mamahalin ang damit pero mukha pading cheap. Just know your body. Know what looks good on you. Do not be afraid to experiment. Do not be afraid to explore. Do not hesitate to wear things that you feel good on. One day, some day… you’ll find out that what others say to you doesn’t matter much. As long as you are happy and you don’t cause pain and sufferings to others, go ahead! Fashion comes with a price but fashion is not all about the tag price. ;)
